Azzamonkeyman - that is my dream!! being on a ship while it sinks: in perfect safety! did u gop on the stern of it? Did the sinking feel like you expected it? Did you go on top of the stern? sorry for all the questions, but i dream of doing what u did!

This is exactly what happened SnarlingLeopard. I walked through a dooron the hull of the ship and walked around a bit. The rooms were empty of course except from paintings and curtains. Then I heard the bang as the men shot the missile things at the bottom of the ship. The whole ship vibrated and leaned to one side slightly but it leaned back. I was on the lowest floor of the ship and it was filling up with water like a bath. It wasnt just me on it though. There were other people too.

This is what happened next SnarlingLeopard. Me and the 13 other people walked along this long hallway and walked up to the next floor. The water seemd to be following us. It was soooooooooooo cool!!! You could notice the slight tilt in all of the rooms you walked through. Then we made it up onto the boat deck. Everything was padded so we never hurt ourselves. There was foam and stuff around different poles and railings. We were given big thick heavy padded suits so it was hard to hurt yourself.

We had big helmets too. We were soooooooo safe btw!!! The front of the ship had gone down a considerable ammount and anything that wasnt nailed or bolted down too the floor of the ship just slid down to the front of the ship. I ran to the stern of the ship and looked over the railing there. The big propeller was lifting out of the water. Then big waves crashed over the bow of the ship and it slipped under the sea. I ran into the promenade deck and saw water pouring through the windows.

Then i ran back to the stern where almost everyone else was. Some people were too scared so they jumped off the ship and swam to the rescue boat. I had to hold onto things as i walked to the stern because the stern was rising to such a high angle and if i didnt hold on i would of fell. I jumped over to a railing at the stern and gripped on as tight as i could. The bow of the ship was long gone and under the surface of the water. The water around the bottom of the ship was white and foamy.

The stern was rising into the air faster and faster. A group of girls next to me were screaming as loud as they could. They were terrified but i thought it was fun. A guy just under me thought it would be fun to let go of whatever he was holding onto so he did. The ship was vertical and about 40 meters tall. Maybe even more. The guy just dropped right down hitting off anything in his way. I thought he was hurt but he got into the water and waved happily. Then the final plunge began.

The water around the bottom of the stern exploded like there were bombs under the water. The waves just shot up around us the stern started to go down. Some people jumped into the water and a few others dropped like that other guy and hit off things. It was just me and 2 or 3 other people. The stern was completley vertical. At 90 degrees. I pulled myself up and sat on the railing. We were dropping like an elevator. As the last 20or 15 meters of the ship went down i was so excited and scared.lol

Atlast the stern went down completley. As the stern went down it shook a lot. I took a deep breathe and atlast i was in the ocean.actually, i was under the ocean, but i floated back up because i was wearing a lifejacket. There was explosions in the ocean around the area where the ship went down. The people in the warm water swam over to the rescue boat and got changed. It was amazing. Like being on TITANIC while it sank only it was quicker and it never broke. The ship was about 100 meters long.

I always wondered if you could just clilmb upon the bow and then, at the last minute, just jump in the air and swim away as it sinks... They say it drags you down, but does it really?

And to answer hbkfan. The ship was scuttled to create a man made reef. The blue tubes all over the top are made to keep the ship from rolling so it lands upright when it sinks. The water is not that deep if you notice the bow hitting the bottom and then the rest sinks.
