d Bishop Weeks, estranged husband of Evangelist Juanita Bynum pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault today, March 11, 2008 in Fulton County Superior Court. Judge T. Jackson Bedford presided over the case. On August 22, 2007, Ms. Bynum reported to the Atlanta Police Department that her hu
sband had choked her, pushed her down, kicked and stomped her in the Renaissance Concourse Hotel parking lot on August 21, 2007. Ms. Bynum reported the attack to police while being treated for her injuries at a local hospital. Further investigation revealed that the attack was witnessed by a hotel e
mployee. According to the employee, he initially heard Ms. Bynum screaming and went toward the voice because he was concerned that she was in serious trouble. When the employee reached the hotel parking lot, he witnessed Ms. Bynum lying on the asphalt and Weeks kicking and stomping her repeatedly a
ll over her body. The employee grabbed Weeks and forced him to stop the attack on his wife. Weeks was overheard saying that he was going to kill her. After the attack, Weeks fled the scene before police could be notified. Bishop Weeks was sentenced to three-years probation and 200 hours of non-chur
