banian, Manastiri; Turkish, Manastır; Bulgarian: Битоля, Bitolya; and Serbian, Битољ, Bitolj. During Ottoman rule the city was called Monastir and when Serbia gained the city after the First Balkan War (1913), it was renamed to Bitolj (Битољ).

2-- well , in Republic of Macedonia , Vlach are recognized minority , with own schools, radio and TV , and everything ! about the Macedonian church , we declare in 1967 autokefalia ! but , for our informacion , Ohridska Arhiepiskopija,was the olddest church by the slavic people, oldder than the Serb or Bulgarian ! and today Macedonian Ortodox church is new born Ohrid Arhiepiskopia!

Vlach have always considered themselves Greek, the Arvanites, (who speak Tosk Albanian) also considered themselves Greek. My late godfather was born in Ptolemaida, but considered himself a Pontian Greek. Only communists in exile, call themselves Mkdnski, and ONLY for political reasons. The Vlach are Greek, because they fought for Greece, and are loyal to the church. There is no dichotomy. There is no Nazi sympathizing/Turk grovelling exarchate.

Finally! an intelligent argument. Ohrid is full both of Greek and Slavic history. (music, architecture, culture) You fail to steal Greek culture, so Serb and Bulgarians, have to be robbed now. The only way a church can declare autonomy, is if the ruling depoti/vladika is a heretic. Not for politics, or to make a province look like a pseudo-nation. If it was the first Slav church, (knowing Ohrid) than it may have been Greek AND Slav, and we all look stupid. Good debate thanks!

Slavic invasions are historically North to South, and Slavic conversions South to North. I actually thought you knew something I hadn't thought of before. No. The only Macedonian church with any population was a Greek Thessaloniki based church. (Unless you prayed at a Bulgarian EX-archate) I can't see how you are both the newest and the oldest Slavs, perfected Greek culture, but aren't Greek A culture so great and influential, yet and left no evidence of this ancient superpower. 1940's Phoenix!

Ask and you shall receive answers. When my koubaro's (KYM) parents married, (1968) his Florinioti(Lerin) father wanted to learn his Kastorian fiances language. He was told by her family, that no such books exist. Calling the families anything else but Greek, (or half Greek) is a great insult to them. Greece can't recognize a minority by force. How could a liturgical institution,like the Orthodox church, exist w/ out alphabet until 1944. Who bought the church from Sultan? Not Tito's MKD S.Rep

WHAT IS THE QUESTION? Rainbow or Ourano Toxo is a political party. There are 11 million people in Greece, (2 million in Macedonia) however, they received aprox. 3000 votes. The group is made up of lazy Greeks who [like Gruevski (Grouios)] can't find real jobs, so want governmant jobs. The party leader's brother says he's 100% Greek, and the the leader in question is quoted on video (on youtube!) saying I'm Greek but politically Macedonian. Next question:
