I love Happy's voice. I worked in a record store several years ago and I got one of her albums as a promo. Gosh I am so glad I got it. I would have never heard of her otherwise.

Her vocalization is more of an immitation of kate than an "interpretation" of her. Pretty voice, but that's the same thing as saying kate bushes voice is pretty.

In Happy's defense, she's a unique artist in her own right, not a cover act. She's recorded 10 albums of her own music, never covered Kate Bush on record (except for quoting one line) and this cover was after years of urging by her biggest fan who also happens to be a big Kate fan.

Happy love's Kate's music, but is well aware of the danger of slavishly imitating another artist. And this was not an attempt to imitate Kate - if she wants to she can exactly reproduce Kate's early vocal sound. IMO, neither Kate nor Happy are natural sopranos. Both trained themselves to sing high, and this sort of "head tone" are going to sound similar.

Kate is using her natural voice these days, but she is no longer using the upper register that she used for "Wuthering Heights". That voice is Kate's "head tone", and no, it's not her natural range.

Any soprano needs to train to keep their reach as wide (esp. high) as possible. And every voice has a head-throat-chest register, nothing unnatural about that, imo...

She's really good, she sounds exactly like Kate. I would say she must be lipsyncing, but the recored one sounds slightly different. Still..., sounds alot like kate, odd :) Very good job :D
