Disregarding the fact that i'm Greek, Byzantines took it from the Persians? The city was built upon the old city of Byzantium by the Roman Emperor Constantine, and before the Roman Empire belong to Greek colonists from Megara and named after King Byzas. And that's about it..

yeah but luck get the ottoman empire alive you know during the siege two lucky things happened that let the ottomans win. When the Venetian armies in Constantinople finished a raid on the ottomans one soldier forgot to lock the door and the ottomans poured in also the byzantine general got hit with a stray shot in the middle of the battle dropping the morale of the army. If those things hadn't happen the ottoman siege would have been lifted and the Byzantine Empire would have survived

The Byzantines didnt take it from the persians. It was an old greek city-state until Emperor constantine made it into Constantinople. It was Roman then. When the Western Roman Empire fell, it was the Byzantine capitol. Now its just plain old Istanbul.

God, wish I could play that game on a decent computer, but my gaming computer lacks a DVD drive!
Also, it's always annoyed me that they never made the layout of Constantinople accurate in any of the Total War games.
