I was able to figure that out easily because $3.79 is not divisible by anything else from 1 to 10. It's just another strategy that so many other contestants miss. And man, prices were so much lower and Bob did not have whitened hair then. This must be early 80s.

The only reason I could see this being confusing to someone who isn't completely retarded, is maybe the game was too difficult for people who didn't buy certain products very often, in which case they probably shouldn't be on the Price is Right. :P I vaguely remember this game from when I was a little kid.
