Jascha Heifetz plays Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35: I. Allegro moderato
*NOTE: This was from a movie, so Heifetz skips a LOT of the first movement due to time constraints. He skips nearly half of the piece, and so does the orchestra. So please don't ask for second or third movements because I do not have them. You also get to see a bit of Heifetz acting at the end.
A great treat! Conductor: Fritz Reiner This is my favorite rendition of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. I think Heifetz played a bit faster than in his recording.

Heifetz is the only person who can play this violin concerto this fast and still sound excellent, in my opinion. Some amazing parts in this song. Great video.

this is kind of a diferent version, some passages are slightly different that the usual concert, maybe the same Heifetz made the changes himself because it was "very easy" for him to play the concert in the normal way...AMAZING!!!!

This is probably the most exciting version I have ever heard of this great concerto. Great performance and from a movie. simply wonderful. I don't care it's different than the original.

to argenteus5 - some of the changes you hear were in fact made by Heifetz's teacher Leopold Auer. There are, however, cuts in this performance which must have been especially for the film.

Yes, this is the Auer version of the Tchaikovsky. Heifetz revised it once more and made that passage more elaborate :)
