it started as an byzantine church and it will end as a byzantine church. and it was never from "istanbul" it was from constantinople because istanbul came after. constantinople orthodox produced that wonderous building. you can destroy all the icons you want, spiritually its a christian dwelling.

The Cathedral was Consecrated by the greek fathers of the Church they performed a Holy Mystery in which they invited the Holy Spirit to make it's home there long before the invasion of the Ottomans and the Bull of excommunication by the Catholics,so everything evryone tries is useless.The Church Belongs to Christ and his Saints and all his people.A curse to those who deny CHRISTIANITY TO THE PEOPLE IN CONSTANTINOPLE.
