| I think it more likely that there is something fundamentally wrong with the recording industry as well as modern society's general taste in music, two things that are very closely related I'd say. I recently saw a documentary on an independent film channel titled: "The Day The Music Died". It talked about the increasingly over commercialization of music and how many excellent emerging artists never even get signed, while the pop clones are every where! The film can be found online I think. |

| a very close friend of mine, although alive, thank god, thought he was going over for terrorism, but quickly found out otherwise. He ended up getting ambushed and severely imjured. He's mostly the same as before, but has some physical difficulty at times. I think abou him and the other soldiers who have been injured as bad or worse and those who have died, and I feel bad for them and families. One of many reasons I voted for Obama. Iraq's own prime minister wants us out even! |

Wake up, this song has nothing to do with your dead soldiers, and to try to shoehorn that meaning into the song is an insult to Prieboy, HIV sufferers and their loved ones and any one who can see beyond simple-minded jingoistic thinking. |

| RhinoGen, in most cases I'd be the first to agree with you about the way we Americans often take something...and make it so self-centered. However, I viewed a solo acoustic concert clip of Concrete Blonde's Johnette Napolitano performing this song. She noted how all the billions of dollars spent on the war in Iraq could have been used to find a cure for HIV/AID...and would make it so that a person such as Wendy need never feel so abandoned by her society that she takes her own life. |
