Wind shear on very short final of L26
Uploaded by: coollastsamurai
Video Description:
L26 is known for gusty winds and terrain-induced windshear / turbulence. We experianced gusty winds with loss and gain of airspeed on final, and heard stall horn buzzing on very short final. I will make a better landing next time.

Windshear occurs at any altitude, any directions, and any condition. Terrain-induced windshear is a good example. In fact, Hesperia is famous for the terrain induced windshear among the pilots in southern california. This knowledge is a Private Pilot FAA Written Test level. Windshear always needs to be associated with clouds?? LOL

Looked like your turbulence was caused from thermals rising from the heated ground, not from the wind shear normally associated with the micro burst of cold air coming out the bottom of a thunderstorm.

Any landing you survive is a good one, however, it's a good idea to keep a little higher landing speed under turbulent conditions.
