They are all 100% greek and the instructor is in the middle trained in Greece for 6 weeks under the best names in the Greek dancing world! He has been running this group in Chicago for 20 years and tries to take traditional dances and put other "performance" elements into it so it's not repetative to watch. The Zorba music is taken from the movie and is a crowd favorite every year! Hope you get to see them in person in Chicago one day :)

It is called a 'fustanella' for your information. It is actually a dress that we went to war against the Turks in 1821.
This is before suit and ties were invented.
Not much different than the Scotish natinal dress..the kilt.

Dance is very good but It's better to be danced with black pants and a red belt since the foustanela is meant for more traditional dances. Don't think the costumes matched the dance.

Either you are Greek or you are not! I can't believe some offensive comments in here, which according to them to be Greek is a matter of percentage, i.e. 100% to be considered Greek, which in fact not only sounds racist, but also goes beyond the imagination of a civilised society and reminds me the Nazis and their obsession for the Aryan Race. Im Greek and I feel ashamed of such comments posted by Greeks!!!

Please don't feel ashamed! I've lived and/or traveled all over the world, and there is that hate-filled, ignorant element in every nation on the globe. Nazism and its modern incarnations are never far from the surface. That's why we have to rejoice when people get together to celebrate the positive side of mankind in music and dance. The fustanella was a normal dress at the time.

The simplest dance is the Sirto/Sirtos which we learn at school, the next one is Kalamatianos which is regional but we all know it, The rest are more dificult to learn an not all know them. Then we have Only woman and only man dances and many other regional dances like 'Susta' etc.
